Entry Form must be fully filled out and signed. You will receive an entry confirmation by e-mail.

To enter songs online, click on Sonicbid’s icon on BANDWARS Entry page http://www.sonicbids.com/ and follow the simple instructions. Songs may be submitted on CD or tape via mail see rules at http://www.songwars.net/Contest.html. If you are submitting multiple songs or one song in multiple categories, please put them all on one CD or tape, if possible. If entering a CD, submit the entry in a regular-sized CD case and label with band's name in black marker. Also, be certain that the band's name is marked directly on the CD, or tape. Please include a track listing of the songs in the correct order. Include lyrics which must be labeled with band’s name. CDS or tapes will not be returned to contestants. There is no time limit on song length (we wish to enhance the creative process, not constrain).

ENTRY FEES: There is an entry fee of $15 (US) Payment for mail-in entries must be in the form of a money order. Personal checks are not accepted.

All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but only one name should be designated on the entry form. Contestants shall, by entering, indemnify and hold SONGWARS/BANDWARS harmless from and against any claims inconsistent with the foregoing.

BANDWARS is open to all performing songwriting bands/solo artists regardless of nationality or origin. Because of the Red Gorilla Festival performance/showcase opportunity prize, all entering bands should be rehearsed and able to perform a complete set of songs. Travel expenses are responsibility of the artists. Employees of SONGWARS, its families, subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible

Entries will be screened by SONGWARS, and the finalists will be sent to the judge’s panel who will select the winners. The judging panel consists of music industry professionals including songwriters, arrangers, producers, engineers, and artists—all under the direction of Mike Pinder. Songs are judged equally on melody, composition, originality, and lyrics (see Advice Page for more information). Lyrics must be in English. Recording Production value and quality will not be considered. By participation in the contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by any subsequent published revisions of these rules and by the decisions of the SONGWARS/BANDWARS Contest, which are final in all matters relating to the contests.  Void where prohibited by law.  All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

All prizes will be awarded to the first name as it appears on the entry form, and division of prizes among co-authors is the responsibility of winners.

Entry constitutes permission to use winner's name, likeness, and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. SONGWARS/BANDWARS may use winners’ song submission for promotional purposes only and without obligation to pay a license fee or other fee to artists under any circumstances for the use of said songs.

Artists retain all ownership rights to all submitted song(s). SONGWARS/BANDWARS will not have any ownership rights to any song(s) submitted.

SONGWARS/BANDWARS reserves the right to change prizes (to be of equal value or greater value) under certain unforeseen circumstances.

SONGWARS/BANDWARS shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any dealings or the result of the presence of any third parties with which SONGWARS has established a sponsorship or advertising relationship.

In the event that a winner cannot or will not claim a prize, SONGWARS will no longer be responsible for delivery of the prize.

If a winner does not use or claim studio time, all rights to said prize are forfeited. Winner must notify SONGWARS in writing of intent to claim studio prize.

There will be no transfer and substitution of prizes except as necessary due to availability in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. If it is necessary to substitute a prize, SONGWARS reserves the right to give the winner a cash substitute  determined by the wholesale value of the prize, not retail value. All winners agree to release SONGWARS and sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. All  federal, state, and local taxes, and customs fees, when applicable, are the sole responsibility of winner. SONGWARS is not responsible  to pay any winners' taxes.  SONGWARS will in good faith send prizes out in a timely fashion.  Please note that prizes which are being sent to winners from Sponsors could take longer than prizes sent directly from SONGWARS. If the winner has not received any portion of prizes within 180 days and has not responded to SONGWARS communication, SONGWARS will no longer be responsible for delivery of prizes.
