Award winning composer, Alan Koshiyama's debut into the world of film and television music began when producers at Dick Wolf Productions/Universal Studios asked him to compose the score for their independent short film and TV pilot, "The Toothfairy Gets Greedy." Since then, his music has entertained audiences worldwide through an impressive resume of feature film, television, and national commercial work with credits ranging from Disney, ABC, TBS, ESPN, and PBS, to Time Warner/Turner Original Productions.

Koshiyama's music can be heard on the movie, "National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Reunion," and Lions Gate Films 2005 release, "Fugitive Hunter." Koshiyama's original score for the movie, "Dead Dogs," helped earn the film "Best American Independent Award" at the prestigious 1999 Seattle International Film Festival. Variety Magazine calls Koshiyama's music, "...evocative."

Television shows include "Teenage Confidential," an ABC-TV original movie, "Alaska's Bush Pilots" for Turner Original Productions, as well as video games for Electronic Arts and NovaLogic, musical toys for Hasbro and Fisher Price, and even a theme park-style submarine ride attraction at Catalina Island.

Classically trained on piano and clarinet as a child, it wasn't until Koshiyama "fell in love and later became obsessed" with the art of jazz when he began to branch out into other forms of commercial music. His talent has taken him worldwide to such venues as the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Ireland to the prestigious North American Monterey Jazz Festival. Yet the orchestra, what he calls a "canvas for emotion," remains his prominent choice of colors.

Koshiyama is an affiliate of BMI and resides in Northern California.
