DAvid zychek

David Zychek entered the recording industry in 1979 as a guitarist/singer/songwriter for the band AIRBORNE - signed to Columbia Records, and Irving Azoff's Frontline Management company. It was big time education on the inner workings of studio engineering and producing from the likes of Keith Olsen (HEART, FOREIGNER, FLEETWOOD MAC) and his partner David Devore. At work on AIRBORNE'S 2nd album "The Dig", David got to work closely with bandmate Beau Hill, who became one of the "go to" producers of the '80's. "Beau taught me more about the songwriting
and recording process than anyone else, and it was a hands on, 24/7 environment".
In 1993, Zychek teamed with music producer David Prater (DREAM THEATER, FIREHOUSE) on a project for the legendary band NIGHTRANGER, entitled "Feeding off the Mojo" for Drive Entertainment. "My contribution was mainly song arrangement duties, but I also supplied backing guitar, keys, and some bass parts". The band was impressed enough to offer Zychek a place in the band for a year-long tour in support of the record.
The Prater/Zychek collaboration continues to this day, as contemporary artists seek them out for recording and production assistance. From 2001 - 2004 pre-producion and recording began for DIVING FOR PEARLS' frontman and songwriter Danny Malone. The resulting record, "Texas" was released in 2005 on the Atenzia label. Also released in 2005 was David Zychek's own 11 song release under the band name DEAD HEART BEATING, on the Song Haus Music label. Rounding out that year's releases for Prater and Zychek was power metal rockers KRITIC KILL.. This cd, entitled "Psalms" showcased the bands off the charts power, perfectly complimented by Zychek and Prater's meticulous production and pristine mixes. "We did all the recording for Danny Malone and the KRITIC KILL projects on 2 Roland VS2480's equipped with both effects cards so we could use 3rd party plug-ins plus all the cool Roland effects, mic models, and COSM amp/preamp models".
David Zychek started his own studio, Largemouth Recording Studio, with partner Ronny Griffin in 1998. It features the Roland SI24 control surface, the Sonar 6 Producer Edition sync'ed with the VS2480, Univeral Audio and Presonus preamps, numerous plug-ins, and outboard gear by Yamaha, Antares,TC Helicon, and Alesis. Prater and Zychek have recently finished the TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION project,
entitiled "Pride of Texas" - released this year, and are currently gearing up for the new SLICK FIST project. Check out Largemouth Recording Studio
