Songwars is great contest for aspiring writers.  It's gives amateur
writers the  opportunity to showcase their work for industry pros to
dissect and analyze.  I was given a thorough critique which let me know

Like many  performer /  singer-songwriters, I still work in another 
profession that occupies a 40 hour week or more. While that job 
(teaching special needs children) is and has been very satisfying, my 
passion has always been music. The rigors of teaching in todays world 
have relegated my music career, at the moment, to sporadic live 
performances.
  I am grateful for the opportunities presented  through sonicbids 
to gain some recognition for my musical efforts. It is rewarding to 
know that your music is acknowledged by your  peers as a good 
product, worthy of some praise. I especially appreciated Mike 
Pinders'  Songwars competition because the songs were judged as a 
package, with all elements of the song analyzed, judged and 
critiqued. The feedback, support and exposure we have received  from 
being a quarterly winner has been invaluable.  A big thank you to 
Mike for supporting the many aspiring singer songwriters through this 
competition.

I found the songwars songwriting contest to be a great experience. I
really felt like I received a fair and thorough critique that will benefit
my future song writing efforts. They promptly answered questions and  were
helpful when I was having difficulty finding my critiques  staying in
